For Immediate Release: Monday, December 11, 2017

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) will offer several Animation Workshops during the Montgomery County Public Schools’ winter break. The hands-on, one-hour programs are designed to show participants how to animate their drawings and create a flipbook. The programs are for ages 10 to 14 years old. All supplies will be provided.

“These workshops are a fun opportunity for kids to learn how animation works because they get to apply their imagination and ingenuity to their own animated creations,” said, Leila Cabib, a cartoonist, illustrator and animator who is facilitating the programs.

The free workshops, supported by a grant from the Montgomery County Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, are scheduled at the following branches

“We are delighted to host these workshops,” said MCPL Acting Director Anita Vassallo. “Art brings people together, and to see young residents have fun by learning new creative skills is inspiring.”
