Westwood Apartments Statement


In 1997, as part of its mission to provide affordable housing throughout Montgomery County, HOC signed a lease with an option to purchase the Westwood Tower property in the 20th year of the lease. In January 2018, HOC completed the acquisition of Westwood Tower.

HOC Youth “Jump” into School Year with New Supplies

 

On Friday, August 25, 2017, the Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) and its nonprofit entity, Housing Opportunities Community Partners (HOCP) hosted their Annual Back to School Fest for HOC youth. This event culminated a month-long school supply drive. Children from across the county gathered at Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park in Gaithersburg, MD for one last day of play before the school year begins. Each participant received a brand new backpack loaded with much needed school supplies.

HOC Participates in First MAHRA Day of Service

Kensington, MD – On Thursday, June 8, 2017, the Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) held its third annual Day of Service, allowing staff to engage directly with organizations that serve HOC customers and the broader community. The day also marked the first annual Maryland Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agencies (MAHRA) Day of Service. Staff from public housing authorities across the state joined HOC in providing over 1600 volunteer hours to community organizations throughout Maryland.
