Job Description:

This is a professional position that implements and executes work efforts in the administration of various personnel programs to include employee benefits, wellness, employee communications, leave management, performance management, orientation, training, recruitment, and classification. Incumbent will be given overall program objectives/priorities, is responsible for coordinating program efforts within the HR Team. The incumbent performs a variety of duties and researches problems to provide alternative courses of action. These duties generally are conventional/standard but have a large impact on the proper functioning of the Human Resources Office and services provided to other divisions and employees. Incumbent will inform, advise and counsel supervisors and staff on agency policies, employee benefits and services provided by the Human Resources Department. Act as liaison between Montgomery County Office of Human Resources, Montgomery County Employee Retirement Plans Department and HOC employees to coordinate coverage and membership for health insurance and retirement benefits, processing monthly invoices and bi-weekly retirement contributions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Four years of applicable professional experience in Human Resources administration in the public or private sector.
  • Experience working with Human Resources Information Systems. Experience with ADP is a plus.
  • Considerable knowledge in Benefits Administration, Wellness, Employee Communications, and Leave Administration.
  • Ability to organize and evaluate data, arrive at sound conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and court decisions relating to the field of Human Resources.
  • Ability to plan and implement projects, establish program efficiencies, and analyze and assess program effectiveness. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with people tactfully and effectively.
  • Must be proficient in Google environment.
