Job Description:

This position will serve as a lead worker and assist Housing Specialists, participate in group and/or individual recertification meetings, determine eligibility of participants for placement and continuation in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. Will provide insight and guidance to Housing Specialists on internal processes and client/owner issues. Will maintain a caseload of specialized programs within the voucher program, including but not limited to: Portability, Family Self Sufficiency, and Homeownership. May complete program quality control reviews and make recommendations regarding process and training based on findings. Will generate Housing Assistance payment contracts, process portability payment discrepancies and complete special projects as needed. Will submit compliance referrals as needed. Incumbent must have transportation as this position may work from various office locations. Must obtain Housing Choice Voucher certification within six months of hire.

HOC may require employees to periodically update certifications upon request. Cost of training and certifications will be provided by HOC and employment is subject to successfully maintaining applicable program certification(s).

Preferred Skills:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Public Administration, Government or related field
  • Requires two (2) years’ experience in subsidized housing or related field
  • Strong communication skills and good customer service are required
  • Must have knowledge of data systems such as Yardi, PIC, Onbase and Excel
  • Must obtain program certification within six (6) months of hire
  • Experience in the Housing Choice Voucher, Tax Credit or other subsidized program is required
  • Must have knowledge of subsidized housing program guidelines and federal, state and local landlord-tenant laws
  • Must have great verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Bi-lingual Preferred.
