Job Description:

This position is responsible for assisting in the processing, monitoring, and reviewing of all operations in HOC's bi-weekly payroll system. Will review, batch, and process all time cards. Assist in the review and processing of employee change forms. Update and maintain accurate payroll files and records. Review and distribute payroll reports as required. Upload biweekly payroll, month-end accruals, and quarterly leave accruals to HOC’s computerized financial system.  Will also assist employees with questions and problems.  Assists with processing of all payroll disbursements including taxes, retirement plans, union dues and service fees, ICMA payments, etc.

Preferred Skills:

    • Minimum 2 years Degree in Accounting, Business or related field
    • Requires four years of experience with an automated payroll system in a large or midsize organization.
    • Must have wage garnishments processing experience
    • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to work independently 
    • Must be proficient in MS Excel
    • Fast and accurate data entry required
    • Experience using accounting software preferred
  • Experience using ADP payroll system preferred
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal tactfully with internal and external customers.
