Job Description:

This is a professional position that is responsible for analyzing incident reports from various divisions and contract companies to determine the eligibility of claims and maintain claims reports and its back up documents.  Will submit property, liability, auto claims through various online systems provided by the insurance companies. Will collaborate with claims specialists and adjusters from insurance companies as well as property management and maintenance division to follow up on pending claims. Maintain and update all COIs related to HOC’s properties and automobile policies. Recommend specific lines of insurance coverage that are applicable to a contract and/or scope of service to significantly reduce the risk of financial loss. Evaluate and review contracts for compliance with the insurance requirements. Provide necessary administrative support to the risk management division. Prepare monthly claims loss report and Maintain and update HOC’s master policy file.

Preferred Skills:

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Public Administration, Insurance or related field. 
• 1 year experience working with property and liability insurance policies and claims.
• Must have understanding of insurance requirements for vendor contracts and construction contracts.
• Must have knowledge of Risk Management Concepts and Loss Control Practices.
• Experience researching principles and techniques of Property and Comprehensive General Liability coverage.
• Knowledge of housing program development and monitoring, fair housing, compliance, and housing policy.  Skills include policy development, critical thinking, needs assessment, and record keeping.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to review and understand various legally oriented material including Federal Regulations and Federal Agency Handbooks.
