Program Description: Everyone needs safe, decent and stable housing. This interactive workshop focuses on the agency’s mission in keeping residents housed in the various housing programs that the Housing Opportunities Commission has to offer. This training attempts to prepare and equip participants to safeguard their homes and the occupants of those homes. At the completion of this training, participants should be able to assess their home for fire readiness; test battery-operated and wired smoke detectors in their homes; create a fire emergency plan for their families; create, post and schedule regular fire drills and emergency evacuation plans in their homes.
