VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Both individuals and groups may serve as HOC volunteers. Our volunteers play a significant role in helping us increase and expand services to customers, as well as support administrative, technical and clerical functions for HOC staff.

Many of our volunteers serve as advocates, helping to increase community understanding and cooperation around affordable housing in the county and the many services HOC provides. Volunteers are an important part of our team and are deeply integrated in our work. As a result, we interview and screen all individuals interested in serving as volunteers prior to placement.

If you are interested in volunteering with HOC, please browse the available positions listed below. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet position requirements.

When applying for a volunteer position, click each link to view posting details and click “Apply Now.”  Complete the Housing Opportunities Commission Volunteer Application and return it to: Eugene Spencer, 10400 Detrick Avenue, Kensington, MD 20895. For more information contact Eugene at (240) 627-9727 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
