Job Description:

Responsible for specialized technical work involving design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of a variety of information systems (IS). Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and peripherals, and other related problems at user level. Configure and install workstation hardware and peripherals. Provide telephone and onsite user Support Desk structure. Set up and move PCs and other IS equipment. Configure all software for parameters for security and operational efficiency. Test systems for integrity and performance. Use backup and recovery procedures for restoring user data. Maintain inventory of agency’s user hardware, software and peripheral equipment. Maintain and update repair, work order, inventory and support records in the Support database. Contact vendors for repair and maintenance on hardware and software related problems. Support IT management for purchasing administration and network assistance as needed and assigned. WP

Preferred Skills:

  • Requires two years of college with a major in computer science or a technical certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience in the areas of configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of computer hardware, software.
  • Must have knowledge to support peripheral devices, MS Office Suite applications, and MS Windows operating systems.
  • Must have a current A+, NET+ or MCP certification or the ability to obtain an A+ certificate with six month of hire.
  • Must have the ability to work with and provide assistance and one-on-one training to non-technical staff, including clerical, professional, and managerial needed.
  • Must be skilled in diagnosing and correcting hardware and software problems.
  • Must have the ability to lift and move computer equipment (up to 50 lbs.) required.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal transportation required.
